Following the huge success of their debut single “The Orphanage”, Die KAMMER frontmen Matthias Ambré and Marcus Testory are kicking off “Season I” with their first album, “The Seeming and the Real”. Twelve songs, each with a unique acoustic arrangement, exploring the theme of “appearance and reality”, not only invite you to listen and dream, but also, on more than one occasion, make you long to be asked to dance once more. The band’s line-up is what makes Die KAMMER’s sound so special: Ambré has skilfully placed Testory’s charismatic voice within perfectly balanced arrangements: alongside the singer-songwriter-style acoustic guitars, the tuba provides a warm foundation, whilst the string trio delivers heart-melting harmonies. The percussive drums make the songs swing, run, trudge or even rock properly. In contrast to the monotonous, computerised and precision-engineered pop music typical of our times, Die KAMMER offers a refreshingly honest and lively sound that defies categorisation. Compositional sensitivity, technical brilliance, passionate vocals and autobiographical lyrics strike right at the heart of the listener. All in all, “The Seeming And The Real” is a bittersweet declaration of love to “being” in all its facets. A well-rounded work by two seasoned musicians and their virtuoso ensemble.
