After the huge success of their debut single ‘The Orphanage’, KAMMER protagonists Matthias Ambré and Marcus Testory are launching ‘Season I’ with the first album ‘The Seeming and the Real’. Twelve acoustically unique songs on the theme of ‘seeming and being’ not only invite you to listen and dream, but also sometimes make you want to be asked to dance again. The band's line-up is what makes the KAMMER's sound so special: Testory's charismatic voice has been skilfully placed by Ambré in perfectly coordinated arrangements: the tuba provides the sympathetic foundation to the acoustic guitars in the singer-songwriter style, while the string trio provides the heart-wrenching harmonies. The percussive drums make the songs swing, run, scamper or even rock properly. The KAMMER counters the contemporary monotony of computerised and quartz-precise pop music with a refreshingly honest and lively sound that cannot be pigeonholed. Compositional sensitivity, technical brilliance, passionate singing and autobiographical lyrics strike right at the heart of the listener. All in all, ‘The Seeming And The Real’ is a bittersweet declaration of love to ‘being’ in all its facets. A well-rounded piece of work by two mature musicians and their virtuoso ensemble.
